Written and recorded in the quiet haze of the early morning hours, Hellbachs second album 'Berlin - Nordhausen' is an eclectic electronic journey into early childhood memories, eerie recurring dreams and the perceptions of everyday life's reality.
It consists of ten spiritually intertwined compositions, as every piece on ‚Berlin - Nordhausen’ has a sibling, a musical counterpart that stands for one of the two cities. Recorded on tape with analog drum machines and synthesizers only, the album's sonic soundscape is an old school throwback to the pioneers of electronic music and a heartfelt farewell to a romanticized past that never existed.

Komponiert und produziert in der schläfrigen Stille früher Morgenstunden, ist 'Berlin - Nordhausen' eine eklektisch-elektronische Reise zu frühen Kindheitserinnerungen, wiederkehrenden Traumschleifen und Bildern aus der Alltagsrealität. Die zehn Kompositionen des Albums sind miteinander verbunden, jedes Stück hat seinen Gegenpart: einen spirituellen Zwilling, der für die jeweils andere Stadt steht. Ausschließlich mit analogen Synthesizern und Drumcomputern auf Band aufgenommen, ist 'Berlin - Nordhausen' eine Hommage an die Pionierzeit der elektronischen Musik und ein wehmütiger Abschied von einer romantisierten Vergangenheit, die nur in der Phantasie existiert.
